me being pedantic

check this out - this was my note from my house-cleaning lady today
(which reminds me... my socks are in my jacket pocket... dont stick your hands in there or they will start to smell)

Hi Michelle
I find the old mop is not doing the job needed. All it does is move the dirt around so i would really like you to wash it with warm soapy water and dry it off with the green towel same in bathroom and toilet. While you still have the bucket please wash the front step.
(let me interject here and say that 'the old mop' is about 3 thousand years old. it is rusty. and the sponge is black. and you can buy new mop heads for $3 from the supermarket!! Why do i need to wash it and DRY IT WITH A TOWEL? Its a wetmop for petes sake. You push the handle down and it squeezes the water off itself)
I have sprayed the bath - it helps if i do it while the bath is warm
(and i'd like to point out here, that i have cleaned the bath for the past 5 months. so i dont know when she's discovered how to do it better... as i was quite satisfied with the way i was doing it)
i have done all the windowsills and the bottles on the vanity and the vanity top and front please jif the bowl.
(she doesnt have jif, but im not going to be pedantic. Plus i didnt really know which vanity she was talking about, but i figured that "all the windowsills" actually meant 'all the windowsills')
could you also maybe before you do the floors do the windowsills and skirtings with warm soap water as the Papanui Rd grime is fairly stubborn - the door handles and where fingers go on the door should have a wipe at the same time. That is priority Then if you have time could you vacuum and dust. Thankyou Michelle
(i actually did the windowsills and skirtings with warm soapy water last week... so that shows how much she actually checks what i've done... they're not actually dirty - the problem is that whoever painted them white did a shoddy job, so the paint is streaked, which makes it look really dirty. And i always do the door handles and along the doors)

But im not really mad at the lady i clean for, she's nice, but im annoyed cos im supposed to do 2 hours cleaning a week and it always goes over. Which didnt matter so much last semester cos i just had CU, but this semester i have a class... so i still have to get back to uni and get lunch and then have 3 hours of class. And i was a little grumpy cos it doesnt seem like she notices the work i do. I went out of my way to do the skirtings with warm soapy water last week, which i have only been asked to do once before, and the very next week she asks me to do it again... weird
Anyways, just me being pedantic. And having trouble understanding her instrucitions.
Im having a tough week... im really really tired, and i've been out so many nights in a row and its really catching up. I just want to go home and get into bed at 9.30 and sleep... and wake up in the morning feeling refreshed, not exhausted.
But i must go now, i have to go to my auntys place for tea cos we're going out to Les Miserables tonight... I had forgotten up until monday when she rang to remind me..... and she'd already bought tickets, so i couldnt get out of it *sigh*
Oh well... i can always fall asleep in it *grin*

Iv'e always wanted to see Les Miserables, hope you have fun, though I hear it does drag in spots. My favourite would have to be when I went to see Phantom of the Opera in Sydney when I was 14. Ill never forget it :)

Agreed. Les Mis is great.

It worries me to think you're considering sleeping through it.

oh man you guys are funny!! Thanks Mike, you're right, i dont know what your hands would be doing in my pockets.. it was almost a bridget jones-esque note to self, but i thought it would be funnier if i shared the thought with all of you. Shouldnt you also be wondering why my socks were in my jacket pocket? lol... i like your Gollum quoting.... one day i will get to see Return of the King... and get more Gollum-fix. I quite liked him...!!
Phantom in Sydney would be amazing!! wow!! :)

Fraser- thanks for the hugs =) i wont get sick, im too tough and manly... no wait - seeing as both you and Breo are sick and you're both men- i'm too tough and womanly! thats better! Which french movie did you see?

Sam - you are SO my aunty, lol... she has the soundtrack, and she tried to sing the songs all the way home, he he (TRIED). But she can't do the accents - so you win that contest, he he! It was really good - a lot of awesome singers, who had really top quality voices... but i found it a little hard to follow the story line - cos its all singing, so when people didnt accentuate their words properly it just got confusing to tell what they were saying, lol!! Oh lol, and my tailbone is bung, and i have trouble sitting still for too long... and wouldnt ya know it - they were hard wooden benches that we had to sit on, lol! so when it was the end of the first half (which i confess, i actually thought was the end, lol) i was so so sore!! And ended up sitting on my lovely life-preserver, goose-down, straight from china, bright-pink jacket, lol. But yeah, aside from my whingeing (which as you may have noticed, i specialise in) it was a great show, even if a little depressing!
And i'm very impressed with your possum story! i thought it was going to be like those pick-a-path stories or something scary, lol... but the possum part was brilliant... it even made me snigger out loud here in the computer room, tee hee!!
And yay, i will add you to my msn list... when i go home :) i am michelle2995@hotmail.com and i dont care if thats posted, cos i posted my phone numbers on here once, and never got any randoms calling me, lol!

Aah, Miguel... good to see you back and commenting... how i have missed you, my love... and how i long for the day when you, the handsome suave prince, will come to sweep this cinderella off her tired feet, and whisk her away to happily ever after .... =)

Michelle, the reason you haven't gotten any random callers is because there aren't as many spammers who go round ringing people.

Sending a spam e-mail is simple as. And it can be done anonymously. Trust me, e-mails and phone numbers are totally different. Surely better safe than sorry?

cye!

he he he he he ooh i can think of some good burnination... HOLD IT IN, WALKER!!
=P
i often find that subtitles of french movies are incredibly badly translated, making the movie really hard to understand...
I think it would be cool to watch a movie without the subtitles one day, and just like on Whose Line Is It Anyway, give our own translations of what the actors are saying, hee hee :)
